Welcome to the First World War Centenary Site for Brighton & Hove

August 2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War.

The war had a huge impact on those who experienced it and its legacy resides across the globe, but also closer to home in family histories & the heritage of local communities, such as Brighton & Hove.

To mark the 100 year centenary Brighton joins a host of nations, communities & individuals in remembering the lives of those who lived, fought and died in the War.

With its significant links to the First World War, Brighton & Hove will play an integral part in the commemorations through a range of events, exhibitions & cultural programmes, including War Stories: Voices from the First World War at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.
