Green Spaces

If you need a break from city life, there are plenty of green spaces within the city, including six parks awarded the Green Flag certification.
Why not take a picnic out to Preston Park and the beautiful Rookery Rock Garden with its twisting walkways, streams and waterways, or visit the "Chalybeate" spring in St Ann's Well Gardens in Hove. And children will always enjoy feeding the ducks on the lake in Queens Park, right in the centre of the city.
Further afield, there are some beautiful walks around Stanmer Park, plus there's all the delights of Stanmer Village and Stanmer Nursery where you can buy your own seasonal plants to take home with you. Or take the bus along the seafront to Rottingdean and stop off in Kipling Gardens, (named after Rudyard Kipling, the village's most famous resident), which are divided into a series of distinctive areas, including a woodland garden, a herb garden and a croquet lawn.
Brighton & Hove has 98 parks and green spaces. Click here to find out more.
