Edwardian
Edwardian Brighton is preserved at Preston Manor, home to the Stanford family from 1894 to 1932. The Stanford family owned and developed a lot of land in and around Brighton and Hove including Preston village and the Drive in Hove in the early part of the 20th Century. Their name lives on in many of the more outlying areas such as Stanford Avenue and the Stanford schools.
1905 Charles Peach enlarges Preston Manor. The entrance is widened, a dining room and servants' wing is added and a verandah is built along the north front.
