Categories: Media News Archive

Visitors to Brighton will be able to celebrate an evening of fortune and mystery with second ‘White Night’ – Brighton’s all night cultural festival.

To mark the end of the British Summer Time, on Saturday 24 October 2009 Brighton & Hove’s historic streets, city squares and famous venues will come alive with a fantastic array of all-night events, exciting trails and mind-bending installations.

With free entrance to a whole host of activities and many running until dawn, visitors can take full advantage of the extra hour amid the heady atmosphere of England’s most creative city-by-the-sea.

With the theme of “fortune” running through the festival, visitors are invited to use their mobile phones to take part in a movie treasure trail, experience a virtual cycle tour through the city, visit the many exhibitions, workshops and light shows before enjoying the dawn chorus on the seafront.

From life drawing classes, midnight fashion shows and “dive in movies” at the city’s swimming pool, White Night’s unique programme of events caters for every taste, whether young or just young at heart.

Last year’s White Night festival – the first to be held in Brighton – attracted in excess of 15,000 visitors. This  year, with more than 40 events taking place throughout the night, thousands more are expected.
