This year competition is set to be even hotter with the UK teams competing against players from across the world including entries from Brazil, Germany, Portugal and The Netherlands. The Championships, which are free to watch for spectators, are being held at NIVEA SUN Yellowave Beach Sports Venue on Madeira Drive, on Saturday 4th July. There will be deckchair seating available, free foot massages, samba music and the chance to have a go with some of the world’s best players.
“Footvolley is the ultimate sport with over head kicks and dynamic moves”, said Dan Clifton, Yellowave Assistant Manager. “The Barefoot Open is a real favourite with locals and visitors alike. The players are phenomenally skilful, the games are action packed and the atmosphere is fantastic. There are also lots of free ‘have a go’ sessions for all ages, freebie give-aways and Barefoot wine to kick back with.”
The Championships, in their 3rd year at NIVEA SUN Yellowave, will begin at approximately 10am and build up to the finals in the late afternoon. The UK Footvolley Association, who will be supporting the event, will be offering regular public footvolley sessions at Yellowave this summer.
