Looking for half term inspiration? Why not check out the newly opened Foredown Tower, home to 1 of only 2 operational camera obscuras in the south east.
360 degree views of Sussex
Foredown Tower Countryside Centre is re-opening for the 2008 season on Saturday 16th February, the start of half term week. The former water tower is home to one of only two operational camera obscuras in South East England. Enjoy 360 degree views of the Sussex countryside through the camera obscura or watch one of the hourly demonstrations.
From astronomy to wildlife
Foredown Tower also offers expertise in astronomy and wildlife and is a great starting point for hearty walks on the Downs. Built in 1909 as a water tower, Foredown has been converted with great care, preserving many of its original features.
Activities for kids
Foredown Tower also offers nature and astronomy activities for children and families, which are both fun and educational.
Admission to the viewing tower and camera obscura is £2.60 for adults and £1.60 for under 16s. There are special rates for families and groups.
