A photo of kids at the Brighton Festival Childrens Parade.Come to Brighton with the kids and help kick start the Brighton Festival with the carnival atmosphere and fiesta style fanfare of the Children's Parade.

A must for kids
The most spectacular community event of its type in the country, the Children's Parade is a must for parents and kids.

Throughout the year over 4,000 participants from 70 schools and community groups have been in creative cahoots, hatching a plan to create the biggest, loudest and brightest parade in its 18-year history.

A hop scotching, leapfrogging cavalcade
This year's theme is children's games so expect a hop scotching, leapfrogging cavalcade.

As the towering tableaux and fantabulous costumes snake through the streets to the pulsing beat of samba, over 10,000 onlookers celebrate the dazzling creativity and youthful exuberance of our city-by-the-sea.

Sydney Steet, 10.30am, Saturday 3rd May
The Children's Parade kicks off in Sydney Street at 10.30am on Saturday 3rd May and makes its way to Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront. To find Sydney Street, check our maps page.

The parade marks the start of the Brighton Festival - the largest event of its kind in England.
