Come to Brighton for an artistic amble on one of the Brighton Festival Artists' Open Houses art Trails.
Britains's biggest free arts event
The Artists' Open Houses is quite simply the biggest free arts event in Britain and offers a fantastic opportunity to see artwork in a domestic setting, as well as buy affordable work direct from artists. Entry is free and visitors are able to view the studios, homes and gardens of the artists, whilst browsing through a wealth of wonderful artwork.
Take in a trail
As well as painting, printmaking and sculpture, the houses display a wealth of ceramics, furniture, jewellery, stained glass, furnishings and textiles. Most Open Houses belong to a trail, where houses within easy walking distance of one another are grouped together. You can download a brochure for each of the trails here.
Over 1000 artists and 198 houses
Last year around 1000 artists displayed their work in 198 houses, divided into a mixture of trails and independent houses. Visit the Open Houses website to find out more.
Four weekends in May
The Open Houses are open to the public during the first 4 weekends in May. Why not check out our Festival offers and make a real weekend of it!?
