Brighton is top for vegetarians

Brighton bounces into the new year with its award as the best place for UK vegetarians to live or visit.  Awarded at the end of 2004 by the Vegetarian Society Awards, Brighton beat off tough competition from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Glastonbury to win this very special award as recognition that the city has some of the finest vegetarian eateries in the country.  Many of Brighton's 400 restaurants are either exclusively vegetarian or offer a variety of vegetarian dishes, and some of the city's hotels and guest houses offer veggie and vegan options.  With names like Terre a Terre, Wai Kika Moo Kau, Bombay Aloo and Red Veg how can you resist?  There's even a vegetarian shoe shop in the North Laine.
