If you enjoy walking, you'll love Brighton's Stanmer Park - recently named one of Britain's Top 10 walks by the Independent newspaper.
Simply throw on your walking boots and set off for the Great Wood, roam freely across the downland or join one of the series of guided walks, which lead walkers into previously hidden parts of the park such as Rocky Clump, Millbank, The Horseshoe and Wilkin's Folly. You might even stumble into Pudding Bag Wood. And don't forget to watch out for the recently discovered rare tree hedgehog fungus growing in Stanmer woods.
The historic 18th century Stanmer Park is a stunning landscape rich in wildlife and networked paths leading out to the wider downland, making it perfect for both long and shorter walks. An additional 200 hectares of new open access land has also been opened up, allowing visitors to explore woodland and roam across farmland previously unavailable.
The Top 10 listing comes in the Independent's 'Indypedia' guide in the Walking and Climbing section under 'Britain's Best Walks'. Click here to find out more about Stanmer Park.
