Seven Dials in Brighton

Perched on a hilltop, north-west of the city centre, Seven Dials in Brighton is a vibrant mix of trendy bohemia and suburban elegance. An area of mainly mid to late nineteenth century architecture, the Brighton Seven Dials area takes its name from the seven roads that radiate out from the hub of 'The Dials'.

With the opening of the railway in 1841, its villas and terraces, parks and grammar schools soon followed. After a post-war decline, Brighton Seven Dials once more blossomed into a thriving community. Today Seven Dials is replete with funky wine bars, delis, smart restaurants, cafes and charming 'lifestyle' shops.

Seven Dials is also a home to the Seven Dials Artist's Group, who exhibit unique art work every year as part of the Brighton Festival Open Houses Art Trail. The Seven Dials Artists' Group offers a unique opportunity to see artwork in a domestic setting, as well as buy affordable work direct from artists.

A great place to spend an hour wandering at your leisure, Brighton Seven Dials sits in the hub of the neighbouring areas of West Hill and Clifton Hill Conservation Areas, Port Hall, Montpelier, The North Laine, Brighton Station and Brighton City centre.
