Travelling in Brighton by Bicycle

Cycling in Brighton & Hove is quick, easy and enjoyable.

The city is now part of the National Cycle Network with an official cycle route that runs along the beachfront from east to west.

There are other traffic free cycle routes around the city, as well as bridleways and unsurfaced tracks for off-road cyling into the Sussex downs.

Cycling Demonstration Town

Brighton is also one of five nationally selected ‘cycling demonstration towns’, chosen to lead the way in promoting cycling as a popular, safe, and healthy way to get around.

Hire a bike

You can hire a bicycle while you're here from one of the city's cycle hire shops (contact Visitor Information) or, for maximum ease, contact M's Cycle Hire who will deliver a bicycle straight to your door.

There are also plenty of shops to help with servicing, spares and accessories if you're here on a biking holiday.
