Travelling in Brighton by Bus
Brighton buses are very frequent, with many day, week or monthly saver tickets available.
They are also award winning and environmentally friendly, with some of the lowest bus exhaust emissions in the world. Here are some of the tickets you might find useful:
- £1.80 for a standard single across the city
- £3.60 for an all-day CitySAVER ticket (unlimited travel on all daytime Brighton & Hove bus services within the area bounded by Steyning, Shoreham, Patcham, Lewes (Malling Down) and Seaford (Chyngton Lane))
- £5.00 for an all-day super save ticket (unlimited travel on all daytime Brighton & Hove buses). Also available at the Brighton Visitor Information Centre for a discounted price of £3.20
- £1 short hop fares for popular journeys such as Hove Station to Hove Town Hall
- A £1 tourist fare between Brighton Station and Churchill Square, Brighton Pier or the Royal Pavilion

Breeze up to the Downs is a network of three bus services linking the city with some of its most popular countryside destinations. A green and cost effective way to see the countryside around Brighton and Hove, you can find out more on the Brighton and Hove Council website.

Brighton is also part of an award winning Talking Bus Stops scheme, which allows visually impaired people to electronically access travel information.
Hi-tech signs allows people with visual impairments to receive spoken information on services and travellers can hear which bus stop they are at, which buses are coming and when they will arrive.
Up-to-the-minute information also appears in writing on real-time signs.

You can now also text a bus stop and find out the times of the next buses from any stop in the city. Simply follow these 4 easy steps:
How to text 4 your next bus
- Find the bus stop code for your stop. Codes can be found on the bus shelter or sign.
- Text the unique bus stop code to 84268 (all codes begin with 'bri')
- If you want the times for a specific bus route, text the bus stop code, then a space and the number of the bus to 84268. For example: bridpdp 1
- You will get a text with the times of the next four buses due at that stop
Texts cost 25p plus standard network charges.
