Brighton City Reads

Imagine sharing your thoughts about a book with your partner, hairdresser, bus driver or friends!

Since 2006 Brighton City Reads has encouraged people to do just that.

By introducing a book to the city every May, City Reads encourages people to read something new, pass it on and then share their thoughts and experiences of the book with others.

Copies of the book are placed in unexpected places around the city for people to find and read and a host of events, from talks to book clubs, take place across Brighton and Hove to celebrate the chosen city read novel.

Brighton City Reads 5th Anniversary

2009 saw Markus Zusak's bestselling novel 'The Book Thief' as the 'Brighton City Read' and 2010 promises an extra special event with the City Reads 5th Anniversary.

Keep an eye on the City Reads website for news on the 2010 anniversary plans.

You can find out more about the 2009 event by watching the City Reads video.
