Over 40,000 students from across the country used Student Hut, a student review website, to review university towns and cities across the UK. Brighton was described as a brilliant and vibrant place, where the atmosphere is open and friendly.

Brighton came ahead of several other bigger cities including London, Glasgow and Bristol.

  • A current Brighton student commented: “Now in my 5th year living in Brighton, I'm still amazed by how much there is to do and see.  Brighton has the liveliness and ambience of big cities like London, with plenty of countryside to get your dose of nature too, and all of which is easy to get to. My favourite part of Brighton is easily the food scene. With an extensive list of restaurants, cafes and pop up restaurants there is plenty to explore, especially with the wide range of cuisines available. The music and entertainment scene in Brighton is also buzzing. Not just all the gigs, shows, clubs and concerts and the Brighton fringe festival, but also just when walking down the street.”
  • Another commented: “Friendly and lively, Brighton and Hove is a wonderful city on the South Coast. With access to the beach, many shopping options, and more independent cafes than you can imagine, it’s definitely worth a visit or even a longer term stay.”
