We welcome back Mark to tell us about The Treason Show's return in September....

After our sell out July Treason Show it was straight back to directing and appearing in The Merchant of Venice for The Brighton Shakespeare Company, of which I am also artistic director. Some of you Treason Show regulars would have seen us at BOAT (Brighton Open Air Theatre) or maybe even caught us at the beautiful Lewes Castle, it was a joy to direct and featured many of your favourite Treason cast members, past and present who were wonderful. I’ve directed 6 Shakespeare plays thus far and the reviews for ‘Merchant’ were the best yet. (“The best I’ve seen outside of the RSC and the Globe” Sussex Playwrights) so we’re delighted to say we’ll be doing more next summer.

But now its back to the bread and butter of satire and what a time to be doing topical comedy! With the world of politics turning more bizarre by the day, I can’t wait to get the September edition up and running. We are on at Horatio’s, Brighton Palace Pier on Saturday 21st September and early booking is advised thanks to selling out our last show in July.

In the meantime, I shall be avidly hoovering up the news to get the show ready for what promises to be fertile ground for us satirists. At times like these I like to think I am also providing a public service, as laughter really is the best medicine. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.

So, what are you waiting for, come and get healthy and get your tickets for the next Treason Show on Saturday 21st September at www.tickettailor.com
