St. George's Church is a historic, atmospheric, and captivating venue hosting an excellent roster of live events. Located in the heart of Brighton's Kemptown area, a stone's throw from Brighton city centre, the church is an impressive space for larger events and notable artists. The space has seen the likes of The Residents, The Unthanks, Joan as Police Woman, Seth Lakeman, REN, Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi, Sam Lee and A Winged Victory For The Sullen in the past year alone; as well as performances from charity groups such as Brighton Goes Gospel, Fretful Federation, Rainbow Chorus, Brighton Early Music Festival, and Gay Mans Chorus.
The church has established itself over the last 20 years as one of Brighton's most popular and picturesque venues. During this time, a rich tapestry of artists has performed here, including Sigur Rós Bat For Lashes, Patti Smith, Brian May, Ron Sexsmith, Martha Wainwright, Noah & The Whale, Bombay Bicycle Club, Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit, Midlake, Gruff Rhys, Benjamin Clementine, Low and many more.
The church is wheelchair accessible and has facilities to accommodating other access requirements, as well as a friendly and helpful team of staff to assist where needed. There is also a fully licensed bar offering local brewery drinks, and an impressive balcony seating area providing a spectacular view.
