The Brighton Design Show is a brand new event that champions and celebrates established and emerging designers and makers, living in or connected with the city of Brighton and Hove. Part of Design Brighton, a newly created annual festival for the urban and built environment, The Brighton Design Show will shine a spotlight on the regionʼs renowned creative flair.
Over the course of four days, The Brighton Design Show will focus on product and interior design, providing a vibrant and creative hub, where designers, makers and visitors can interact with each other. The show will host an eclectic roster of designers and artisans, including: Anthony Burrill, Studio Makgill, Forge Creative, Sophie Darling, Emma Johnson, Baines & Fricker, Tanya Gomez, Dowse and Spark & Bell.
Housed in Wagner Hall, an artistic space located in the heart of Brighton, The Brighton Design Show will offer a wide-ranging programme of events. With exhibitions, installations, pop-ups, and a schedule of talks, tours and workshops, there will be a unique opportunity for anyone interested in design to discover and learn more about Brightonʼs diverse, creative scene.
In addition, a pop up design store will market a curated selection of great local craft and design. As part of this, the Brighton-based printing studio Private Press is producing a limited edition series of screen prints, in collaboration with a number of designers. Available to buy at the design store, the proceeds from sales of these prints will go to Equal Footings, a new initiative tackling youth homelessness in Brighton & Hove.
On Friday evening The Brighton Design Show will host Glug - Global talks from leading agencies & practitioners from the creative industries in a fun, informal environment. Speakers at this special edition of Glug will be multi award-winning creative agency Studio Blup, London based and Brighton connected dynamic print design studio Eley Kishimoto and subversive street artist Folka Wolfe.
