South Korean filmmaker Lee Chang-Dong presents a sublime mystery thriller, based on Haruki Murakami's short story, Barn Burning.
Jong-Soo is dreaming of becoming a writer, when he's accosted by Have-mi, who says she remembers him from their childhood. Asking him for a favour, they quickly begin a relationship - but when she returns from a trip with another man, can Jong-Soo keep his jealousy at bay?
This epic, slow-burning film explores male rage and class conflict, as well as unrequited love and the nature of obsession.
Korean with English subtitles.
"Burning is the 'angry-as-hell' movie we need right now!"
VICE
"A hypnotic and haunting film that transcends genre to dig deep into the human condition. You won't be able to get it out of your head"
