Offering a daily-changing selection of freshly prepared authentic Asian cuisine, Nanima Asian Kitchen has fast become one of Brighton’s most popular eateries since first opening in early 2020, and is now a treasured institution within Kemptown Village, servicing the local community as well as attracting dedicated followers to the eastern seafront from across the city. This genuinely family-run café/restaurant, with head chef Nicky running the restaurant and husband Lonnie managing the front of house, is open all day, offering great hot and cold beverages from the morning (including Union Hand-Roasted Coffee and Vietnamese Coffee; Indian Spiced Masala Chai and speciality teas; Mango Lassi, fresh juices and smoothies) as well as a variety of cakes, pastries and sandwiches; from noon the main dishes emerge, fresh and warm from Nicky’s kitchen, with different dishes on offer for each lunch and early-evening dinner service. There are always main non-vegetarian specials as well as a wide range of rice and noodle dishes, many vegetarian and vegan options, all delicious daily soups, all from across the culinary traditions of Asia. Also available are homemade savoury snacks such as samosas, pakoras and spring rolls, all prepared by Nicky's sister, Bea. On the weekends their signature dish, the always popular Singapore Laksa, is available… until it sells out! Nicky also prepares fantastic homemade desserts and traditional Punjabi achaar, awesome pickles that are sold by the jar, in addition to a range of retail items such as Indian tiffin and various lunchboxes and other reusables. Nanima is also fully licensed, with ice cold Cobra on tap and other Asian beers on offer, as well as wines, including Indian Soul Tree wine, ideal with delicious spicy food. They’ve pretty much got everything covered.
