From Friday 6 - Sunday 15 July over 50 different venues will be taking part in Brighton Cocktail Week - yes we know that is more than a week but that just means extra time to try more cocktails!
During the extra long week anyone with a wristband (£10) will be able to buy cocktails at participating venues for just £5. With so many venues taking part here's a few of our favourites to help you get started....
Chez Mal
The bar at the Malmaison Hotel at Brighton Marina is a fabulous cocktail bar and if the sun is shining then head out on to the terrace to enjoy gorgeous waterfront views...
The Ginger Pig
The Ginger Pig is well-known as a gastro-pub but did you know they also serve killer cocktails? Well now's your chance to pop down there and try some and if you don't have a designated driver you could always book into one of the bedrooms upstairs...
Merkaba
The stylish Merkaba in the North Laine will be taking part all week plus on Sunday 8th July the bar will host the Francois Monin World Record Attempt: "Most crown caps open in one minute" The current record is 96!
HarBAR
The stylish HarBAR offers seaviews and is only moments away from Chuchill Square or The Lanes making it a great post-shopping spot...
The Chilli Pickle
For those looking to enjoy some delicious food along with their cocktails then you'll be pleased to hear that several restaurants are also taking part including the award-winning Indian restaurant The Chilli Pickle...
Blanch House
There are venues taking part right across the city including the contemporary Blanch House in Kemp Town...
Other venues to look out for include: The Coal Shed; Curry Leaf Café; Hotel Pelirocco; Fifty Five at Una plus the new sustainable cocktail bar - GungHo!
As well as the venues selling cocktails for just £5 there will also be a wide variety of special events taking place throughout the week. Highlights include:
- Cocktail Court Festival - Launching the Brighton Cocktail Week will be this special festival at The Old Ship Hotel. The Paganini Ballroom and the Regency Room will be full of exhibitors selling a cornucopia of cocktails for just £5 each.
- Soda Jerks - The Fix will create a grown-ups playground with an alcoholic ice-cream parlour!
- The Quaffing Club - Head to the Hove Cin Cin to be taken on a flavour journey around the globe with the world's most quaffable vermouth.
- Arbikie Cocktail Party - Drakes hotel are bringing the heat to their event with 3 Arbikie Chili Vodka cocktails served with light bites to match.
- A Storn in a Teacup - Metrodeco hosts a special summer feast and cocktails with a menu inspired by female food writers of the 20s and 30s.
- Brighton Flair World Open 2018 - The official closing party from Brighton Cocktail Week includes a Flair Bartending Competiton - not sure what that means? Just think back to Tom Cruise in Cocktail!
