Last week the VisitBrighton gang (along with an excited 6 year old) left central Brighton and travelled the short distance to Hollingbury which is where Phileas Fogg is staged. We took a taxi, but parking is available and there are buses that can drop you off close to the venue.

Phileas Fogg World of Adventures is a quest incorporating immersive theatre, escape room-style games, amazing sets and costumes and interactive challenges all under one roof. This resulted in an hilarious, sometimes scary but most of all fun afternoon.

Walking into the venue, you are immediately transported back to the past. Everywhere you turn there are references to voyages and expeditions. Actors dressed in the finest Victorian costumes greet you as you get ready to begin your journey.

Phileas Fogg was a Victorian explorer who makes a wager for £20,000 that he can travel the world in 80 days. It is our job to help him when he is accused of breaking into the Bank of England. By collecting artefacts from each country, we will help prove that he is just a traveller and not a criminal.

We can’t give too much away regarding the experience itself, but let’s just say each room (or country) we travelled to has the wow factor! The sets are incredible and the games are exciting. Meeting many fabulous characters along the way, we were entertained from start to finish.

They offer a Family Experience and an Adult Experience. We took my 6 year old daughter and the actors really catered to make the experience enjoyable for her. They highly succeeded in this! She absolutely loved it. She got really involved in the games and was in awe of Mr Fogg and each of the rooms – especially when she discovered the blizzard in the Arctic room – you’ll have to take your kids along to see why she had so much fun in this room 😉

The adult version is darker with tougher challenges. This would be perfect for corporate events, or hen/stag parties who want something different.

At the end of the adventure our cheeks hurt from laughing – which is always a good sign! The fun doesn’t have to stop there though. There is a bar, indoor garden and snooker room offering drinks and light bites. You can also enjoy afternoon tea.

Appealing to all ages, Phileas Fogg World of Adventures is an exciting new addition to Brighton’s attractions. We love that you can mix all the fascinating elements of immersive theatre, spectacular sets and talented actors with audience participation and Crystal Maze type challenges. This is something very different and we welcome it with open arms!

Look out for the magical Winter Wonderland Experience starting on 24th November where you can join Phileas Fogg on a fun packed, live pantomime adventure around the world to meet Father Christmas.
