On the blog we tend to focus on what the city has to offer for our leisure visitors with details of upcoming events and new attractions, but of course Brighton is also a popular destination for business travellers as the city plays host to a wide variety of conferences throughout the year.

Next week the VisitBrighton Convention Bureau will be attending The Meetings Show in order to showcase the city to conference organisers. This year the team decided it was time to do things a bit differently and so they will be unveiling a brand new stand. The key message we want to convey is that Brighton has the same capacity for meetings & conventions as larger cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham with the advantage of being a smaller, easy-to-walk around destination.

Working with locally-based company Developing Dreams the idea eveolved into the 'Small is Beautiful' stand that will be unveiled at the show next week. The stand will feature intricate three dimensional versions of the main conference venues, creating a minture version of Brighton made out of laser cut plywood. As well as being beautiful the stand will also be practical as the iconic West Pier doubles up as a desk and chairs for use by the show's guests.
