Part of our job here at VisitBrighton is to tell the world how fantastic this city is, and with so much going on it really is an easy sell however sometimes we need to communicate the beauty, vibrance and brilliantly bonkers atmosphere in just one image!

We do love the above photo that Simon Anderson took at the Brighton Festival event 'Dr Blighty' a few years ago. Of course anyone can see it's a stunning image and it certainly is eye-catching which of course is important for promotional images however there is more to it then that. From our point-of-view this one image helps to visualise a lot of the key selling points that make Brighton such a fabulous place to visit:

  • The Royal Pavilion shows the history & heritage of the city as well as being a major attraction
  • The photo was taken during a Brighton Festival event therefore highlighting that Brighton is a festival city and represents the arts & cultural side of Brighton.
  • The colourful image shows the vibrancy of the city
  • The event also reflects the digital and innovation of the city through the projection technology

We are always on the lookout for more images like this and we know there is a lot of talent, passion and enthusiam for the city among both professional & amateur photographers on Instagram so we'd love to see what image you think captures Brighton in one photo. What is it you love about the city? Is it the beachfront? The shopping? The culture? The festivals? The attractions? Do you visit for family-time? Romance? Nostalgia? Heatlh & Wellbeing? Foodie?
