Reigning Women Season at the Old Market: 21 February – 23 April
A genre-spanning mini-season all about celebrating the kick-ass women in the industry and beyond. A platform for both established artists and rising stars to showcase their amazing talents.
Brighton Half Marathon: 25 February
The happiest half marathon in the UK returns in 2024, with 7,500 runners competing with a stunning Brighton backdrop.
ABBA Anniversary Weekend: 6 – 7 April
Swedish pop greats ABBA sang their way to Eurovision victory at Brighton Dome in 1974. The city will come to life to celebrate this anniversary, with many venues hosting tribute bands and musical events in homage to the Swedish pop supergroup.
Brighton Marathon: 6 – 7 April
The UK's third largest marathon, not to mention the most picturesque, will return on Sunday 7 April 2024. The flat course makes it perfect for runners looking for a quicker race. It is also renowned for its roaring crowd support!
Land Beyond Festival: 3 – 5 May
Land Beyond is about stepping into the unknown, away from the day-to-day grind and into a world where you are free to be you, explore new sounds, scenes, and experience the unknown.
Brighton Fringe: 3 May – 2 June
The largest open-access arts festival in England returns in 2024 bringing a month of top comedy, dance, music, and more!
Brighton Festival: Sat 4 – Sun 26 May
An annual celebration of the arts across Brighton, Hove & East Sussex. With Guest Director screenwriter and novelist Frank Cottrell-Boyce at the helm, this year’s festival is going to be outstanding.
Artist Open Houses: Weekends throughout May
Every year since 1982, Brighton & Hove artists open their doors to show you their work, a perfect chance to meet the artist and buy directly from them.
The Great Escape: 15 - 18 May
The festival for new music returns to the city, showcasing over 500 up-and-coming artists from all over the world across 35 walkable venues.
Brighton Valley Festival Series: 24 – 26 May
The legendry act The Streets will be taking to the stage at East Brighton Park, to kick off this much anticipated weekend of live music, Busted play on the Sunday, watch this space for more acts to be announced.
Charleston Festival: 16 - 27 May
Now in its 35th year, imagine the world differently with today’s most exciting artists, writers and changemakers at Charleston’s programme of festivals.
Elderflower Fields Festival: 24 – 27 May
A wild weekend family adventure, packed full of music, sports, nature and the arts, all set in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside.
London to Brighton Bike Ride: 16 June
This iconic charity bike ride is the oldest in Europe. Join thousands of others on this 54-mile route from the capital to the beach.
Goodwood Revival: 6 - 8 September
The romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be. The Revival is the only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress and is a return to the halcyon days of Goodwood as the spiritual home of British motor racing.
On the Beach: 19 – 21 & 26 - 28 July
On The Beach comes back to Brighton’s seafront for 6 special dates across two weekends. With headliners, Brighton band the Kooks, and Carl Cox announced so far, this is going to be two weekends not to forget.
Comedy Garden: 3 - 7 July
A blisteringly hot line-up of comedy’s biggest and best names heads to Preston Park for a smashing series of open-air shows.
Trans Pride: 20 – 21 July
Trans Pride Brighton is the first and the largest Trans Pride event outside of America. Each year since 2013 Brighton has hosted the largest protest for trans liberation in Europe, with over 10,000 people attending.
Pride: 2 – 5 August
One of the brightest events in Brighton & Hove’s events calendar, and the UK’s biggest LGBTQIA+ Pride festival returns in 2024, with over 300,000 people pouring out onto the city’s streets to participate in and watch on as an all-singing, all-dancing carnival of colour wends its way from the Hove Lawns to the main Pride festival site.
Brighton Mod Weekender: 22 – 25 August
Brighton, the spiritual home of the Mods, welcomes back the Untouchables, Mod Weekender in 2024. The August bank holiday sees the whole city come alive for an entire weekend of sharp suits, music and of course the iconic scooter run.
Triathlon: 31 August - 1 September
The Brighton & Hove Triathlon will be back next year with participants taking on the fast and flat traffic-free route from Hove Lawns along the famous seafront Promenade. The event will also include children's triathlons for 8-16-year-olds.
Ace Café Reunion: 8 September
Independently acclaimed as the Worlds' Coolest Motorcycle Event, the Ace Cafe Reunion rides into Brighton, culminating at the iconic Madeira Drive.
Boundary Festival: 28 September
Returning to Stanmer Park for the perfect way to close your festival season, Boundary Brighton 2024 is set to be as massive as 2023.
London to Brighton Veteran Car Run: 3 November
For over 120 years motor car enthusiasts have been making the journey from London to Brighton, with nearly 350 pioneering veteran cars, their intrepid drivers, plucky passengers and hordes of enthusiastic well-wishers joining together to celebrate.
Burning the Clocks: 21 December
The whole city comes together to celebrate the shortest day of the year. The annual event brings the city together to celebrate the shortest day of the year and provide an antidote to the excesses of Christmas with a different theme every year.
