Universities & Colleges
Brighton & Hove has two universities and five colleges. Both of the universities are within easy access of the city centre.
The University of Brighton's main campus is at Moulsecoomb on the edge of the city. There is a train station in the campus with frequent trains to the centre taking about 5 minutes, there are also regular buses. There is a focus on the sciences although the universities alumni does include Quentin Blake; Raymond Briggs and fashion designer Barbara Hulanicki. Please note the university has 4 other campuses - 2 in Brighton, 1 in Eastbourne and 1 in Hastings.
Campus Accommodation is available as self-catering accommodation for non-students during the holidays.
The university is based at Falmer on the edge of the South Downs National Park and home to the American Express Community Stadium where Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club play. There are frequent trains to the city centre and the journey is approximately 10 minutes. There is also a regular bus service. For over forty years Richard Attenborough was an ambassador and Chancellor of the university. Notable alumni include Ian McEwan; Virgina Wade; Frankie Boyle and Bob Mortimer.
