We've decided to get to know some of our local business partners a bit better - and today we speak to Kystle Taylor from Get Glossy...

Please tell us about your business and what you offer to visitors coming to Brighton.
Get Glossy is Brighton’s luxury hair, makeup concierge service. We bring our Elite artists directly to visitors in their hotel or holiday rental, creating a seamless, on-demand experience that fits around their stay. You’ll often find our team working along Brighton’s seafront hotels, creating beautiful hair and makeup looks for guests celebrating special occasions.
What do you like most about what you do?
What I love most is the feeling of creating something special for people. Being with someone in those moments before a special occasion feels like an honour, it’s a privilege to help them feel their best and to share in their excitement.
What inspired you to start your business?
It all started with a simple question from a friend who was celebrating her 40th at The Grand Hotel.
“Can you find someone to come to my room and do my hair and makeup?”
You’d think that would be easy but after scrolling through endless salon listings, making calls and sending emails, I couldn’t find anyone available. There was no straightforward way to see who was free and book someone confidently.
So I stepped in hair tools and makeup brushes in hand and did it myself.
What began as a favour quickly became a really special moment, and that’s when it hit me: there was a genuine gap in the market for high-quality, on-demand beauty services in Brighton. Visitors, event organisers and locals all needed easy access to professional hair and makeup without the stress of calling around or leaving their hotel or venue.
And so, in that suite at The Grand Hotel, the idea for Get Glossy was born.
What is the best thing about your work?
Whether it’s a bride on her wedding day, a group of friends celebrating a birthday, or someone getting ready for a special date night, knowing our team have helped them feel confident and truly looked after is incredibly rewarding. The feedback and reviews we receive mean so much, and hearing that someone felt amazing or that we helped make their day even more special is one of the best parts of this job. And we love seeing photos of our clients enjoying their celebrations.
What is your average day like, or is it never average?
No two days with Get Glossy are ever the same and that’s one of the things I love most about it.
Some mornings start in one of Brighton’s seafront hotels, getting a bride or a group of friends ready for a celebration. Other days we’re moving between holiday rentals, pamper parties, photoshoots or last-minute bookings from visitors who’ve decided to make their trip extra special.
Behind the scenes, my day is a mix of coordinating our artists, managing bookings, working with hotels and partners across the city, and making sure every client has a seamless, luxury experience.
Brighton has such an energy to it you never quite know what the day will bring, and that unpredictability keeps the work exciting.
What would you like to be doing as an alternative career?
If I weren’t running Get Glossy, I’d love to be a wedding planner. I really enjoy organising and creating beautiful experiences, and when I’m helping brides with their hair and makeup, I often find myself supporting them with other details of the day, timings, logistics, calming nerves. It all comes very naturally, and I love being part of that preparation.
What is next for you and your business?
Next for Get Glossy is growth both in the services we offer and the partnerships we’re building across the city. We’re continuing to expand our team of Elite artists and develop our relationships with Brighton’s hotels, venues and event planners, making on-demand beauty a seamless part of the visitor experience here.
I’m also excited to introduce new treatment experiences and collaborate with more local businesses and brands. Brighton has such a creative, supportive community, and being part of that is a huge part of our journey.
What do you like most about Brighton and what is the best thing you like to do in the city?
What I love most about Brighton is the energy of the city. There’s this mix of creativity, individuality and community that you feel as soon as you arrive. It’s vibrant, but also incredibly welcoming.
I love walking along the seafront with my children, exploring the Lanes, discovering independent shops, and enjoying Brighton’s amazing restaurants. There’s always something new to experience, and it’s one of those places where you can suddenly find yourself feeling like you’re on holiday... even if you live here.
Thank you!
