Atelier Beside the Sea is a new creative arts space situated on Brighton beach, offering a wide range of creative activities and the best in art and craft to inspire and surprise our local community and visitors to our city.

Established by Jon Tutton and Sarah Young, organisers of the much loved MADE London and MADE Brighton Design and Crafts fairs, as well as Brighton Art Fair, Atelier Beside the Sea is located across three iconic seafront arches containing two galleries, a teaching workshop and a shop, Jon Tutton says: ʼweʼve learnt over the last 18 months how important art and making is to people, we hope Atelier Beside the Sea will become the destination that encourages and inspires creating of all kinds.

GALLERIES
Our two galleries are spaces for surprising, fresh and original contemporary art, craft and design. A national and international programme of exhibitions is currently under development.

SHOP
The shop specialises in beautiful and practical handmade work: ceramics, textiles, jewellery, print, painting and sculpture. Also available to shop online, the range shines a light on the artists, makers and designers who are leaders in their field.

MAKE
The teaching programme offers creative skills classes for all levels, run by renowned artists and makers. From porcelain paperclay, wood carving and jewellery making, to sustainable fashion design and drawing on the beach, there is something to inspire all ages and interests.
The Beehive Art Community Club provides weekly creative skills classes to those who may have not had the opportunity to attend art classes before.

EVENTS AND HIRE
A programme of regular Pecha Kucha evenings and guest speakers is underway. The arches are available to hire for community events and local artists and makers; corporate meetings, events and product launches.
