About

In this workshop we will develop the foundational skills needed to dance the fun and beautiful dance of 'Raqs Sharqi,' or Egyptian-style bellydance. In the first workshop (Saturday 1st June), we will learn basic posture, technique, movements, and weight shifting, as well as some combos. We will learn about some of the most important Arabic rhythms. You will practise hip and chest isolations, travelling steps, and the all important shimmy!

During the second workshop (Sunday 2nd June) we will learn a short oriental choreography.

The workshops will end with a cool-down and some breathing, womb connection, and relaxation exercises. Shake off some energy and expect lots of laughter and shimmies!

Please Note: You will need to purchase a ticket for each day if you wish to attend both the Saturday and Sunday Workshops.
