About
The next installment in the Engineerium.
At the heart of Paranoid London's cultural significance is a simple insistence that Acid house came out of gay, Black Chicago and from scenes the mainstream long preferred to ignore. Their collaborators, from K-Alexi Shelby and Paris Brightledge to Josh Caffé, DJ Genesis, and Bubbles Bubblesynski, keep that history present. Their refusal to sanitize, sonically, politically, or commercially, functions as a corrective in a dance culture that too often forgets the conditions that gave the music its charge in the first place.
Nearly twenty years after Delgado walked through a locked-down London and gave the project its name, Paranoid London have carved out a space that genuinely belongs to them. They've kept hold of their creative vision while still finding a real audience for it, and their commitment to vinyl never wavered, even when the format was being written off. Working with both pioneers and newer artists along the way, they've managed to stay on their own terms throughout, never quite getting swallowed up by the mainstream dance Logan Fisher, party starter, scene setter and DJ has been playing at and curating club nights for over 2 decades. From the iconic Plastic People in London hosting legends of the progressive house sound (Darren Emerson, Paul Daley, Billy Nasty, Andrew Weatherall) he became one of the east London pioneers creating some of the first parties in the then overlooked part of London better known as Shoreditch.
Logan Fisher co founder and resident dj of covert warehouse parties "Tryouts For The Human Race" already reached cult status - selling out within minutes every time and pulling in a procession of the scenes best dj's and producers (Decius, Erol Alkan, Sean Johnston, David Holmes). Lauded by his peers and party folk alike, Logan's DJ sets convey an outsider mentality weaving hocus-pocus house and bittersweet techno where influences of new beat, disco, no wave and italo collide. They celebrate the weird and wonderful with a surprise around every corner.
Evil Plans is an underground UK electronic club brand, record label, and radio show founded by underground dance veterans Ed Tomlinson and Jamie Tolley. Inspired by the subculture and the spirit of figures like Andrew Weatherall, they champion a dark, eclectic mix of acid house, slow techno, dark disco.
