Looking for a fast, funny and unpredictable hour at the Brighton Fringe 2026? The Designated Fire Wardens deliver a high-energy debut sketch show packed with absurd characters, surreal musical interludes and rapid-fire comedy. Having performed as part of the award-winning Durham Revue, this new, exciting duo bring a 60-minute barrage of inventive sketches that blend sharp observation with escalating nonsense.
Armed with whistles, clipboards and questionable authority, they attempt to tackle life’s biggest challenges, from everyday awkwardness to full-scale imaginary crises. Their comedy moves quickly and confidently between wacky characters and gleeful absurdity, creating a dynamic and engaging live experience.
With sold-out Durham and Edinburgh Fringe runs (Underbelly) and a Derek Award for Best Sketch Show 2025 behind them, The Designated Fire Wardens arrive in Brighton with a bold new comic voice, a shared commitment to relentless laughs and plenty of high vis. They have developed this work as part of Soho Theatre’s Character Comedy Lab and are supported by the Pebble Trust Young People’s bursary for their Brighton Fringe debut.
