Let’s face it the last year has taken its toll on us all, so now restrictions are easing why not book a relaxing break and recharge your batteries? Brighton has all you need to improve your wellbeing, from reconnecting with nature in our breath-taking countryside to a sauna on the beach, relaxation reigns supreme in the city.

This trip will leave you energised and oh so blissfully relaxed.

  • This suggested itinerary is for a 2 night stay.

Arrive in the city

Welcome to Brighton, one of the most laid back cities in the world, first thing to do when you arrive here is head straight to the beach, take a big lungful of fresh sea air and check into the Harbour Hotel and Spa which is handily right on the seafront.

Why we love the Harbour Hotel & Spa:

  • Luxury furnishings
  • Subterranean spa
  • Swimming pool
  • Panoramic views across Brighton seafront
  • White company Toiletries

Once you’ve checked in and gone for a dip in the beautiful pool or had a nap it’s time to think about a nice leisurely dinner, why not kick off your first night in the city off with a cocktail in the bar before heading out?

Laid back and serving delicious plates, Murmur is located in The Arches on Brighton seafront overlooking the West Pier, this all day dining restaurant by Great British Menu 2017 winner Michael Bremner is the perfect spot to experience exquisite food, whilst watching the sun set.

Back to the hotel for a restful night’s sleep, this relaxing malarkey is tiring stuff!

Day One

After a good sleep, and maybe even a lie in, it’s time for a delicious breakfast before you explore, either head for a stroll or hire a bike to enjoy the city sights, need something more low-key? Why not book in for a treatment with one of the city’s top spas, here are some of our favourites:

Feel all your stresses leave your body after a long, relaxing treatment, walk taller and straighter as you head for a spot of lunch at the hidden gem Lost in the Lanes, serving exclusive hot drinks, smoothies and freshly made, delicious food in elegant surroundings at an affordable price, perfect for watching the world go by.

Once you have finished your laid back lunch, it’s time to head back to nature, with a spot of forest bathing with Forest & Nature Bathing Sussex, being outdoors and wandering gently among the trees lowers blood pressure, supports mental health, reboots your whole system and ignites natural killer cells to beat infections.

Time to head back to the city for some delicious, award-winning vegetarian dining from Terre a Terre they offer fantastically versatile menus from quirky sharing plates to multicourse set menus.

Feeling full and chilled, stroll back to the hotel to reflect on your day of relaxation.

Day Two

Brighton is #nevernormal and neither are our spas, if looking for a truly unusual spa experience head to Beach Box Spa and Sauna. Situated on the beach this authentic Finnish wood-fired sauna created from a beautifully converted horse trailer, uses the English Channel as a plunge pool, cold water showers also available if you’re not feeling brave!

Once you’re feeling cleansed and refreshed, take some time to just sit and reflect with a drink and a bite to eat from The Sea Lanes Pop Up Café, near the site which is soon to be home to the National Open Water Swimming Centre in 2022.

Stroll back along the seafront, the benefits of being near the sea can include lower blood pressure, strengthened immune system and can give you “blue mind” – a meditative state that releases dopamine, the happy hormone, that’s why Brightonians are so chilled 😊

If you’re not too relaxed at this point you can always take advantage of the wonderful Yoga talent we have in the city. Brighton Natural Health Centre has been running for 35 years so they know their hatha from their astanga yoga and all levels are welcome, book in for a class to remove any last traces of stress and improve your posture.

Finish off your stay with a moment of mindfulness, perhaps review something you would like to change at home or plan your next trip to the city?  Depart Brighton content and calm, ready to take on anything the world can throw at you.

Namaste
