A Warm Welcome from Nostos

Ahead of Brighton's match against Athens AEK we asked Kyriakos, owner of Greek restaurant Nostos, to share some suggestions of things for the visiting team to do during their stay.

Greetings, my name is Kyriakos Baxevanis, and I'm the owner of Nostos, a cosy spot for Greek cuisine in Brighton & Hove. As someone who has embraced the vibrant culture of Brighton while nurturing a corner of Greek heritage in this city, I am thrilled to welcome the AEK Athens team to our beautiful seaside city.

Brighton is a place where the warmth of the locals meets the cool sea breeze, a place where tradition meets modernity. I am excited to share with you my top 5 favourite things to do in the city that has been my home and has embraced the spirit of Greece in its unique way.

My Top 5 Favourite Things to Do in Brighton:

Brighton Palace Pier

A walk along the iconic pier is a must. The lively atmosphere here is infectious, and enjoying a portion of fish and chips as you stroll is a tradition. Don't miss the funfair attractions; they add a touch of thrill to your visit.

Royal Pavilion

This historic palace is a sight to behold with its stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. Take a moment to learn about its rich history; it adds depth to your visit. The afternoon tea at the Royal Pavilion Tearoom is a delightful experience.

The Lanes

Wandering through The Lanes feels like stepping into a different era with its boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants. The unique jewellery shops and antique stores are a treasure chest of discoveries. The restaurants here offer a culinary journey that caters to all tastes.

Brighton Beach

The pebble beach is the heart of Brighton. The sea views here are picturesque, offering a tranquil escape. If you are up for it, a dip in the sea is refreshing. Renting a striped deckchair is the quintessential Brighton beach experience.

South Downs National Park

A visit to this national park is a breath of fresh air, literally. The landscapes here are stunning, offering excellent opportunities for hiking. A team-building hike or bike ride here is a great way to bond. The Seven Sisters cliffs offer breathtaking views that are a must-see.

Adding a Greek Touch to Your Brighton Visit:

Nostos

I invite you to Nostos, where we bring a slice of Greece to Brighton. Our modern and authentic authentic Greek dishes have won the hearts of both locals and visitors.

Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity

This church is a beacon of Greek culture in Brighton. A visit here can be a comforting touch of home.

Post-Game Recovery Recommendation:

The following day, I recommend a visit to Little Jasmine Therapies and Spa. It's a wonderful place to unwind and rejuvenate with a range of therapies and treatments.

We hope you have a great time in Brighton. It's a friendly place with a mix of fun things to do and see. Enjoy your stay!
