North Laine – Celebrating 50 years of independence
Brighton’s beloved North Laine, home to independent boutiques, quirky cafés and some of our favourite restaurants is celebrating 50 years. Why not celebrate with a tour of this fascinating area?
Riddle & Finns – 20 years
For 20 years Riddle & Finns in the Lanes has been serving delicious dishes with outstanding service and they are celebrating with special offers and exclusive events to celebrate opening their doors back in 2006.
Shelter Hall - 5 years old
We can’t believe it has been 5 years since the legendary Shelter Hall opened their doors on their prime seafront spot. After a recent refurbishment, they are open and ready to celebrate this momentous occasion, as only they know how, great food, fabulous service and some of the best views of Brighton seafront.
Brighton Festival celebrates - 60 years: 1 – 25 May
Celebrating six decades of world-class performance here in Brighton, Brighton Festival celebrates dance, theatre, circus, music, comedy, visual art — it’s all here, and you’re invited to be a part of it.
The Children’s Parade - 40 years: 2 May
2026 marks the 40th Children’s Parade and 40 years of partnership between Same Sky and Brighton Festival. With a different imaginative theme each year, Same Sky’s team of dedicated artists have worked with over 150,000 students, teachers and group leaders to develop their parade displays.
Brighton & Hove Albion – 125 years: 24 June
Brighton & Hove Albion football club have been making history for 125 years and this year they are set to celebrate being at the top of their game! Expect events at the American Express Community Stadium including a family festival on the pitch and a special evening honouring players past and present there is also an exhibition at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.
Brighton & Hove Pride – Celebrating 35 years: 1 – 2 August
In 2026, Brighton & Hove Pride proudly celebrates 35 years of bold, joyful LGBTQ+ visibility. Though not the city’s first Pride their history stretches back to 1973, when the Sussex Gay Liberation Front organised the earliest marches, it marks 35 years since Pride as we know it today returned in 1991 and began shaping the vibrant celebration we share now.
Mod Weekender – 21 years: 27 – 30 August
Since 2005 Brighton Mod Weekender has been the symbolic destination of the original Mod annual pilgrimage. Now celebrating its 21st year, the weekend brings MOD music and events on this August Bank Holiday weekend.
Winnie the Pooh – 100 years old: 14 October
Don’t miss The Big One Hundred, a series of free cultural events at Ashdown Forest and throughout Sussex. So, whether you want to hunt for woozles, hide from Heffalumps or just enjoy a simple round of pooh sticks, Ashdown Park is the spot to be this Summer. Nymans are also offering a Winne the Pooh trail until 28 June.
