Our Secrets Beneath the Sea
Did you know sharks, dolphins and exotic-looking sea slugs can all be found along the coast of Sussex? The waters just off Brighton Beach are teeming with life, but most of us walk along the shore without any idea what lies beneath the surface. Find out more at Sussex Wildlife Trust's seafront exhibition on the lower promenade by Brighton i360 until 19th July.
Brighton Bear Weekend
The popular Brighton Bear Weekend returns form 10th - 12th July, celebrating the 'bear' community and its allies. Key events incude the Mr Brighton Bear Contest and the big Garden Party.
Allday Indie Party
Party on the Beach! Central Park event space is based at Black Rock close to Brighton Marina. On Sunday 12th July the venue will host a massive all-day throwback with non-stop indie anthems.
I'm Sorry, Prime Minister
Brimming with razor-sharp wit, nostalgic brilliance, and more double-speak than a press briefing, this is political comedy at its most timeless - and timely. Catch it at Theatre Royal Brighton from 14th to 18th July.
Big Beach Boutique 7
The legendary FatBoy Slim will be returning to Brighton Beach for the Big Beach Boutique 7 from 16th - 19th July. This event is part of the city's summer music festival "On the Beach" which runs until 26th July, other headliners include Moby, Madness and The Maccabees.
Trans Pride
Trans Pride Brighton has been running since 2013 and is the first and largest Trans Pride event in Europe. The aim is to provide a great day for trans, non-binary & intersex people and their friends, allies & family. Continue the fun at the official afterparty with Polyglamorous at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.
GDS Presents...
Grassroots music venue, The Green Door Store, presents a night of free music! The regular "GDS presents..." night is a fantastic opportunity to support upcoming and talent. On 23rd July the line-up includes Osaka Sun, Sand and Offtask.
Brighton Open Air Theatre
Brighton Open Air Theatre, or BOAT, is open from May to September offering a mixture of comedy, cabaret, music and family fun. However my pick would be to see "Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves". Enter the whimsical world of Bertie Wooster, an affable young gentleman with a penchant for getting himself in the most outlandish predicaments. Thankfully, he has his razor-sharp valet, Jeeves, to rescue him from all sorts of mishaps - a jolly good time awaits you!
Funny Women Live
Komedia is well-known as one of the south coast's leading comedy venues thanks to its regular weekend Comedy Club but we recommend getting tickets for Funny Women Live on 25th July to see some of the newest and most exciting female stand-up in the UK.
Big Quiffy Bingo
From the very towering tips of his perfectly-coiffed quiff down to the tips of his bejewelled toes, Boogaloo Stu is altogether completely ridiculous, simply fabulous and utterly idiotic. Join him at Ironworks for this gloriously playful and anarchic bingo experience, where utter filth, joyous fun and flashmob dances collide.
