About
Old Shoreham is the oldest and largest part of modern Shoreham-by-Sea, with a continuous history of settlement stretching back an astonishing 3,500 years. Until just ninety years agowhen the urban district was createdit stood apart from its younger neighbour a mile to the south, New Shoreham. Yet its history has long been under-researched and little known. Now, a new generation of citizen researchers is uncovering its storiesdelving into family histories, property deeds, newspaper archives, public records, and even their own gardensto bring Old Shorehams heritage to life.
Join Us for History Talksthe first in what we hope will become a regular series of events sharing these discoveries.
