Internationally acclaimed pianist Melvyn Tan returns to Charleston with a summer edition of 'Music + Word' - an evening of sound and language that tunes into the natural world.
Specially created for this setting, the performance pairs the music from masters of capturing mood and movement, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel with words from John Clare, Dylan Thomas, Virginia Woolf, and Vita Sackville-West - writers who captured the wildness, stillness and rhythm of the landscape.
From the flicker of light on water to the shift of the seasons, this is a journey through nature in all its texture and colour.
