P U L S E – Move, Touch, Discover!

About

A playful, interactive experience where movement and touch create sound. Designed for kids, adults and curious minds, P U L S E invites you to play, experiment and discover the connections between our bodies, technology and sound.

Inspired by the nerve endings that allow us to feel when our hair is moved or touched, this interactive installation by Neon Dance features a series of mini tiles, each containing a single artificial ‘hair’. Move or touch the hairs and they respond by producing sounds, creating a playful shared environment to explore.

P U L S E is created by Neon Dance (Adrienne Hart) and technologist Dr Hemma Philamore (Bristol Robotics Lab), with composer Sebastian Reynolds. It is supported by Festival of Tomorrow and the British Science Association.

What to expect
You'll have 30 minutes to explore the installation, experimenting with the artificial hairs and discovering the sounds they produce through movement and touch.

There are a maximum of four people in each time slot. Everyone taking part will be given a pair of headphones, so you'll need to book an individual ticket for each adult or child who wants to experience the installation.

Accessibility
The installation is wheelchair accessible and is suitable for people who are neurodivergent, visually impaired or experience a physical disability.
