About
"She really is a legend and is one of the most inspiring, uncompromising, and important artists of any genre in the past 60 years."
–Backstreet Mafia
'Folk's First Lady' on music, protest and environmental justice. Peggy Seeger has spent a lifetime singing truth to power. A defining voice in 20th century folk music, her songs have long championed feminism, workers' rights and environmentalism.
For Seeger, the political is always personal – and the environmental is deeply feminist. This special event offers a rare chance to hear from one of folk's most enduring legends. In a wide-ranging conversation, Seeger will reflect on her journey as an artist and activist, and on the power of music to provoke and unite.
This event will be chaired by Laura Barton.
