Red curtain at a performance theatre

About

The Merry Wives of Windsor is a comedy by William Shakespeare first published in 1602. Although nominally set late in the reign of Henry IV or early in the reign of Henry V, the play easily exists in contemporary middle-class life. The ever-appealing story has been performed continuously across the world and has been adapted for a variety of mediums, including at least ten operas.
