About
Afri-Co-Lab brings their joyous playful style to this unique walking experience: part walk, part game, part theatrical experience. Join Anna Maria Nabirye and Jess Mabel Jones on this magical walk through the Sussex countryside.
The Unlikely Walking Club is for everyone – would-be walkers, would-not-be walkers, walkers and talkers, walkers who like to snack, undiscovered walkers and many more.
We know the countryside doesn't always feel welcoming to everyone: paths can be inaccessible, getting there is a nightmare if you don't drive, not knowing the "rules" can be intimidating, and there's always the risk of feeling like you're trespassing on someone else's land. These aren't just stereotypes – they're real barriers. But not on our watch!
Meet at the designated spot for your initiation into the Unlikely Walking Club! We will discover the local Sussex countryside, peering round corners and into fields – not everything is quite what it seems! Each stop reveals an activity that will bring you closer to the land, rooting ourselves to the earth, meeting new friends, seeing ourselves planted firmly within the landscape. On completion we will celebrate your newly acquired membership to the Unlikely Walking Club with mocktails and snacks!
This is a playful, inclusive part walk, part game, part theatrical experience – a walking club for everyone.
Please come prepared with adequate footwear: trainers or flat comfy shoes are fine and dress for the weather.
We have held a number of tickets we can offer for free for those who are low or no waged, who would like to participate. We can also support with travel costs from Lewes Station.
