OCTOBER UNPACKED includes a plethora of events featuring returning favourites and new arrivals, below we round-up a few that we are looking forward to diving into..
Photoworks - Various Venues
Un/Stable: Lands, Anxieties, Dreams, the theme for Photoworks Festival 2026, considers how identity, place, memory, community and the environment are interconnected, asking what it means to live through uncertainty while imagining or creating hopeful futures. Exhibitions presented in various locations from 2 October to 1 November, encourage visitors to question assumptions, embrace multiple perspectives and think critically about the relationships between people, histories, landscapes and technology.
Ghostly Gatherings Friday - Preston Manor & Gardens
Get in the spirit and join Preston Manor after dark, supposedly one of the most haunted houses in Brighton, for a ghost tour and exploration. Guests will be greeted with a glass of wine and nibbles before exploring the many secrets of the house with one of the expert ghost guides.
Queer Cxntry - Komedia
A night for all your Queer Country fantasies... Hosted by Dame Jame with country super group Pink Suits & The Northdown Rodeo featuring Sue Spurs, Sugar Ray, Janet District Council, Shelly Grotto, Pretzel Cage, Lo Barnes, Em Rose and Eli Gargallo!
OktoberFest - The Terrace
Get ready for two unforgettable days of authentic Oktoberfest celebrations, complete with a lively oompah band, traditional steins, and a delicious selection of locally-inspired delicacies. Expect great entertainment, fantastic atmosphere and plenty of reasons to raise a glass.
Brighton Italian Festival - Various Venues
The festival returns with a selection of music,food,culture, and events blending the best of Brighton and Italy. Highlights include the Street Party, Opera Viva and the Spaghetti Disco.
Jungle Harpies and African Vistas - The Regency Town House
Husband and wife artists Seth and Inma Vila Solfire announce the opening of Jungle Harpies and African Vistas, a deeply personal multi-disciplinary exhibition opening on Tuesday, October 13th at the historic Regency Town House.
The Coast is Queer - ACCA
The Coast is Queer is Brighton’s annual festival of LGBTQ+ writing. The first of its kind in the UK, the festival creates a space for queer readers, writers and allies to come together in a grassroots celebration of the written word and its ability to illuminate and enrich the life of our community.

Brighton’s biggest Bavarian celebration is back for 2026 and tickets are officially on sale. Returning to Shelter Hall on Brighton seafront for one weekend only, with live oompah band, food specials and games!
Micheal Spicer - The Old Market
Michael Spicer, the online sensation who brought you the award-winning viral hit The Room Next Door, brings another hilarious and brilliantly entertaining satirical stage show packed with sketches, short films and stories about why we’re witnessing such a gigantic political and global shitshow, featuring characters from his BBC Radio 4 show ‘No Room’ as well as some old friends too.
