The Coast is Queer takes place from the 15th to 18th October 2026.

The UK's Biggest & Brightest LGBTQ+ Literature Festival. Bringing together top authors and poets, performers, scriptwriters, activists, agents and audiences to celebrate queer lives and writing. Conversations, panels, workshops, performance and films, celebrating the diversity of queer writing.

The Coast is Queer is Brighton’s annual festival of LGBTQ+ writing. The first of its kind in the UK, the festival creates a space for queer readers, writers and allies to come together in a grassroots celebration of the written word and its ability to illuminate and enrich the life of our community.
