Woodfire Camping, known for fabulous food cooked over fire and for coining the term ‘gastro-camping’, is running a series of winter feasts… a fresh take on festive gatherings for groups of friends, colleagues or clients.

Set in a 400 year old barn on the Firle Estate, near Lewes, Woodfire will stage a magical series of delicious winter Feasts cooked over flame. 

Throughout December and January friends, businesses and teams can celebrate the season with a delicious Sussex feast.

Inspired by a traditional British shooting lunch — but reimagined for today — this is a six course celebration of sustainable local game, wild venison and winter vegetables, cooked over flame and served lit by flickering fire against the dark backdrop of the ancient South Downs hills. Logs will crackle, tables glow and glasses catch the light while the wine (or AFs!) and conversation flows. 

Arrive in the crisp country air to the scent of woodsmoke, outdoor fires and the soft warmth of a winter cocktail. Step into a centuries-old Sussex barn alive with the glow of open flames. Long tables set for communal feasting. Fires crackling. Glasses raised.

Local English sparkling wine, beers from Burning Sky Brewery, and a specially curated list of sustainable wines and winter cocktails will be available from the bar.

Guests are welcome to linger after the Feast for star-gazing and marshmallow-toasting around the outdoor fires.

Event duration: 3-4 hours
