About

Nestled in Nile Street, in Brighton’s historic Lanes, is LOST IN THE LANES café bar.  Serving beautiful breakfast, lunch, cocktails, wine, coffee and cakes every day until 5pm in elegant surroundings, at an affordable price.

LOST keep it simple and stylish, offering a small seasonal menu from an open kitchen using quality ingredients from local producers.

The wines are mostly single origin and indigenous grape varieties, the cocktails are curated by a mixologist and the specialty coffee is roasted by Pharmacie Coffee Roasters in Lewes.

The French Toast is a breakfast favourite alongside the Butcher’s, The Vegetarian and The Vegan which includes spiced squash, balsamic peppers, smashed avocado, roasted mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and crispy fried potatoes on toasted ‘Sussex Kitchen’ sourdough.

This season’s lunch menu includes a 14-hour slow-cooked Sussex Beef Shin Sandwich, a Smoked Haddock Kiev Croquette and The Spanish Brunch which goes amazingly well alongside a side of Crispy Potatoes with black truffle oil, lemon, parsley and parmesan.

Recently refurbished to allow space for up to 50 diners, the grey plastered walls, leather and wood interior serves as a calm backdrop to display the stunning food and drink.  They also have a new communal dining table in the restaurant for up to ten and relaxed outdoor seating for warmer days.

Lost In the Lanes is available in the evenings for private parties for up to 50 dining or 100 standing, with a full alcohol and live music licence.  To book, please email info@lostinthelanes.com

Best breakfast in Brighton’ Trip Advisor and The Argus, Brighton.
