About
Post House Cafe is one of the newest additions to Brighton’s food and drink scene, located in the bustling Lanes district in the original Post Master’s cottage dating back to the 1870s. In its newest incarnation, Post House is a positive and vibrant place that brings people together without formality or pretence.
Spread over two floors, the landmark property has been lovingly restored whilst maintaining as many original features as possible. Each area in Post House Cafe has its own feel, exploring colours, collaborating with local artists and bringing balance to a beautiful historical building for modern use.
The ground floor has a vibrant and inviting main café and bar area, an intimate snug and a colourful urban garden with eye-catching mural by local artists that spans the length of the outdoor space. The first floor comprises the Post Room and adjoining Gallery Room accessed through original wooden bifolding doors with stained glass inlays that when opened form a large, modern Victorian space with flexible restaurant-style seating that can also be used for events, larger group bookings as well as private dining.
Post House Cafe is open 7 days a week, day and night. A convenient ‘grab-n-go’ option of freshly baked pastries, breads and cakes all made onsite by their resident pastry chef, as well as quality teas and coffees is available from 9am daily.
Breakfast and brunch is served from 9:30am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and in the later part of the afternoon the venue transforms to a cool restaurant and bar for the rest of the evening serving dinner from 3pm to 6pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and until 9pm from Wednesday to Saturday. The menu is perfect for sharing featuring seasonal tapas and small plates inspired by pan-European flavours and ingredients. All that as well as fine wines, great beers & cocktails - a café, bar and restaurant for all day use.
On Sundays from 12 midday, Post House Cafe keeps the tradition of roast dinners going strong by serving one of the best roasts in Brighton… and even has a Bloody Mary station with all the condiments you need to customise yours just the way you like it.
