Brighton & Hove
Tlaloc, pronounced (cla – lok) is the new resident restaurant at Selina Hotel on Brighton’s vibrant sea-front. The restaurant is a step forward for the team being a pop-up since 2018. Since then, Tlaloc is known for their authentic Mexican flavours in the food and drinks offer.
Tlalos is creating an experience for visitors and locals who want to have some downtime, disconnect, relax and experience new flavours while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and the incredible views the restaurants has to offer.
The concept is to strip away all stereotypes and cliches overly used in Mexican establishments and focus on the flavours using the freshest, seasonal ingredients and by providing exceptional customer service. “we want everyone to feel at home here at Tlaloc, from the moment you walk through the door, we will be giving you the warmest service the city has to offer” the team has said.
Our menu is completely different from what anyone has experienced before as Mexican food here in Brighton. Yes, we have tacos and salsas, but we are serving them the way we eat at home in Mexico.
The restaurant is sourcing most of their ingredients locally and gives them a Mexican treatment to try to match the flavours of Mexican cuisine. In the bar, they work with lots of local wine producers as well as spirit and drink brands. They are firm believers in supporting the local community and work in the most ethical and sustainable way possible.
The idea is to slow down things as much as we can. Authentic Mexican cuisine is not meant to be fast, it’s slow, social and lasts a good couple of hours with lots of drinks and snacks in between. We want our customers to experience that and know that they are coming for an experience. Hopefully we can transmit that with our food and drinks offer and in such a venue as Selina.
