African Night Fever: Kora Meets Sarod (a Special Lunchtime Concert)

About

Master musicians Sura Susso and Debasmita Bhattacharya come together for a rare performance in a trio, playing traditional instruments and weaving melodies inspired by West African and Northern Indian music, and everywhere in between. Bhattacharya is heralded as one of India’s most celebrated performers, while Sura Susso has earned an equivalent accolade within West African music. They bring together ancient and modern harmonies, interlinking the symbolic cultural connections of the instruments and their traditions for special performance of pure joy and music.

The intertwining of the rich cultural music traditions of the two continents and the chemistry linking the scared instruments dating back to centuries will be an experience to uplift and harmonise the soul on a magical afternoon.

This is a very special and rare appearance, so early booking is highly recommended.
