About

Based on Alan Bennett’s play _'A Private Function_', this musical is set in a small Yorkshire town just after the Second World War, when austerity and food-rationing are starting to bite hard.

A group of local dignitaries plan to raise and slaughter an illegal pig, for a 'private function' to celebrate the impending wedding of Princess Elizabeth to Prince Phillip.

Alongside this plot, runs the story of Gilbert and his social-climbing wife Joyce - who are _not _invited to the exclusive function. So _they _decide to steal the pig .... though with rather smelly consequences.

Will Betty the Pig make it to the function dead or alive?

Come and see for yourself, at this production of squeal-ingly good fun !
