Bunkr
Drawing inspiration from electronica, ambient, melodic techno, and the mysteries of the cosmos, Brighton-based musician and producer James Dean channels these influences into his work under the BUNKR alias. Since BUNKR's inception in 2017, he has trodden an exploratory path, deftly cultivating a unique voice in electronic music.
Signals, his fourth LP for the VLSI label, is shaped by BUNKR's formative encounters with space, sound, and the unknown. Shimmering ambient textures drift against polyrhythmic patterns and breaks; synth lines pulse like coded transmissions; fragments of rave energy flicker and dissolve into wide, cinematic soundscapes.
The record charts a line between memory and imagination; it's part post-rave archaeology, part sci-fi daydream. Simon Heartfield is a musician, producer, DJ, videographer, and former child acrobat.
